The simple things
Oh, hi there. Look at my promise that I will post on my blog every week, ha! It’s been over 2 months. But hey I did it, I found 10 minutes to sit down and write something. I love writing and I love taking photos, but I am so bad at making time for the things I love, how absurd right? We never make time for the things we love.
The other day I was listening to an audiobook called Atomic Focus and for a second I thought the guy wrote the book specifically for me. So many things from that book stayed with me. Once I finished with the book Im like “Okay, it’s time to open the website and sit down and post something for God’s sake”. So here we are.
For those who don’t know I’m 90’s kid, and a big fan of simple life. Simple, meaning like … Going for a walk and appreciating the smell in the air of freshly cut grass, making coffee in the morning and listening to the sound of mourning dove birds, listening to the church bells in the afternoon while cooking dinner, or hearing the little kids giggling on the streets while coming home from school, enjoying the smell of freshly baked bread, going for a bike ride or playing football with my daughter… and a lot more. To put it simple, outdoorsy life brings me very much joy. My idea of a perfect weekend is spending time outside with my closest friends and family. And capturing it.
Phones, Tv’s, iPads, social media drives me INSANE! Don’t ask me why. So I figured, the more time I spend outside the less time I get to spend on these cruel things.
Last weekend we didn’t had anything planned, so we collectively decided that for once in the last 10 years we will sleep in until late. Eight hours later and my daughter woke up at 05:50 on a Saturday morning, and said she is ready to ride her bike (yes you read that right). Since we couldn’t really negotiate much, we ate breakfast, got ready and left the house, she rode her bike to the beach we ate lunch there, and went back.
Now, since this was her new big bike me and my husband thought that it will be just a casual slow walk because it will take time for her to get used to it. Well, it took her about 10 minutes and she was off, and me and him? We spent the next hour running after her and yelling “STOOOP WHEN YOU SEE THE YELLOW LINE AND WAIT FOR US” about 20 times. Anyway, we came back, showered, and napped.
But, I did took my little buddy 📸 with me in the morning, because you remember when I said that I thought it will be slow and chill walk to the beach? To my surprise I did manage to document a bit from that morning and took about 20 photos, oh and I also made sure that I didn’t knock my camera off on something while I was running.
Hope you enjoy reading my post after 2 months, and see you hopefully sooner? Only time can tell.
